MP pays visit to DWDT's training café

27th February 2018

Caroline Flint, Labour MP for Don Valley, recently visited DWDT's popular Denaby training café The Hot Chocolate Lounge.

She met staff and heard about the project’s latest activities which include private venue hire and special dining events. The MP also donned an apron and tried her hand at the role of barista with the help of café supervisor Jo Patton who guided her through the coffee-making process.

Our Lottery-funded training café is based in Grays Court and has become a popular meeting place for local residents, workers and visitors from further afield. It also offers opportunities for work experience and training. The café hosts regular themed bistro nights and caters for various community events as well as working with local businesses to reduce food waste. It opens from 9am Monday to Friday and serves breakfast, lunches, snacks, cakes and hot and cold drinks including luxury Belgian Hot Chocolate.
