Computer skills bring job success
13th May 2015
WE have lots of success stories at DWDT and there’s no better way to find out what a big difference our services make than to hear about people’s positive experiences.
One of our clients, Tracey who lives in Denaby, is among hundreds who have found our support hughly rewarding A year ago, Tracey started attending our free computer sessions and Work Club to get to grips with technology and improve her job-searching skills.
She quickly made progress, gaining a City and Guilds qualification in Basic IT and was soon updating her CV online and attaching it to emails – a vital requirement in today’s digital world.
Among other vacancies, Tracey applied for a post as a care home assistant, secured an interview, impressed the managers and was offered the job.
She subsequently had to complete a number of online Health and Safety courses which she did during her ongoing computer sessions, making the most of the free internet access and tutor support available from DWDT. She passed all the necessary tests and has now been working for several weeks in her new job.
Tracey is one of a huge number of people who have seen their skills and confidence grow, and their lives change for the better, with support from DWDT. Our computer sessions are held at the Terrace Training Centre in Conisbrough between 1pm and 3pm on Mondays and Wednesdays and the Work Club takes place from 10am until 12 noon on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Further practical support can be found at the Denaby Skills Development Centre which is open Monday to Friday. People can use computers to job-search and can also access employment, training and benefits advice. To find out more please contact DWDT on 01709 866466 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
