DWDT Projects
DWDT seeks funding to help regenerate communities. To this end we have been successful in securing the investment to deliver a number of projects.
Go Online Doncaster (Community Capacity Building Project)
Doncaster West Development Trust have received funding to deliver a community based service targeting individuals and groups from all areas across the borough that need help getting online and using the internet. The project runs until March 2012 and there are 3 key areas of focus:
- The recruitment of 50 Digital Champions.
- The recruitment of 50 partner organisation.
- The attendance at 50 digital events.
Digital Champions
This can be individuals that are unemployed but are looking for work and maybe need to gain some experience to support that process, who are interested in sharing their IT skills and knowledge with others. Or individuals that are currently in work who are interested in helping others through their jobs or supporting friends and family members to get online. It could also be retired people that would like to help out the community.
Partner Organisations
This can be any business or organisation that would like to support the project by spreading the message about the service the Support Worker can provide, getting involved with the project through agreeing to support the delivery of basic IT training at their venue and working with us to hold events for local residents to access help and support.
Digital Events
Across the life of the project there are planned digital events taking place through the UK Online network that we will support, attend and deliver the service at. There will also be Digital Roadshows that are being organised to open up the possibilities of what can be achieved online. These Roadshows will include how to shop online, pay bills/bank online, job search and use social network sites, and will take place at intervals throughout the year.
